I put them in the dishwasher and use them every day. I've had mine for several years and never had any problems. A little pricey but worth it. I don't understand the breaking problem that a lot of the other reviewers are posting on here. They must not have opposable thumbs and are extremely clumsy and uncoordinated. They keep my tea hot while the glass stays cool.
I never put it in the dishwasher, always used a saucer, and was careful. I didn't have any heat issues, I would pour almost boiling water directly into the mug without issue.Now the caveat. It cracked upon being in the dishwasher one time. They are light, beautiful, retain heat very well, and are cool to the touch. Honestly, even though two have broken I plan on buying another one because the mug really is that great.until it cracks. I was extremely careful with my first mug and it lasted a while before it hit the bottom of the sink while being washed and cracked.
These are absolutely NOT dishwasher safe.So if you don't mind a plastic mat in your sink, handwashing this mug, and, in general, treating it delicately then I recommend it. Everything is perfect about these mugs, except for how insanely easily they break. I also love this particular sized mug, I think it is the best of the series. The mistake I made with the second mug was putting it in the dishwasher.

I did not have time to make an exchange before Christmas so I left it up to my daughter and son-in-law to handle the return after the holiday. All of my prior experiences shopping with Amazon have been very good so I would appreciate having this cleared up as soon as possible. I purchased these mugs for my son-in-law after he sent me a link from his Christmas wish list. When they arrived there was an audible broken glass sound when the package was moved. They have since returned them to you for credit (they decided to try and find the mugs elsewhere) but according to my current online bankcard statement I have not been credited for the purchase.
I do hand wash them as I don't trust them surviving the top rack of a dishwasher.Overall, I am very happy and they work great. There are a few reviewers that had that problem. I was a little worried that they would be broken when they arrived in the mail. No problems though. My wife wanted big clear mugs to see the "milk swirls in her tea", so I picked these up. They work great. I even made her open them a few days before Christmas to be sure.
Really enjoy using the mug as it does a great job of keeping liquid hot or cold. The manufacturers packing could be better as one of the two in the box arrive is very small pieces.
